Initial review of the Ruger Precision Rifle.

What Savage model did you have?
I'm torn between the ### and the Savage 10BA.

*WTF the first letters of Ruger Precision Rifle get censored?

And... Regarding my email to Korth Group regarding the loose safety selector lever, they referred me directly to the Ruger Repair Center in Quebec because the rifle is newly released. I'll contact them tomorrow to see what they want to do.

I was able to talk with Paul at the Ruger Warranty Center in Quebec. Super guy!!! He is a long range shooter himself and had a lot of interest in the gun. He also said that he didn't have any parts from Ruger yet, but would call them right away to discuss the rattling safety on mine and he also said he would ask what the Ruger standard of accuracy was for this rifle. He indicated that Ruger is really good about standing behind it's products and if it will not maintain a reasonable group, he would go so far as to swap out the barrel.
I'm feeling a bit better now.

If you do any prone shooting you will not like that compensator. Generallly good for dusting off ground or your shooting bench.

Gill brakes with directed vents seem to work best.

Made it out to the range today and had a nice afternoon of shooting and adjusting the rifle.
THings didn't start out too good, but after tightening the chassis bolts, scope mount/ adaptor and the rings, I final got some decent results.
I used some 150 gr. FMJBT ammo that I handloaded for my M14 initially. After about 20 rounds with a cleaning every 3 rounds, the group sizes began to settle down.
Once I was happy that the rifle could shoot sub MOA with that ammo, I switched it up to my 168 gr Hornady HPBT Match rounds loaded with 42.5 gr of Varget powder.
I shot one group at 100 yds for zero and then moved out to 300 yds. The results were alright, but I really think it's going to get better yet since I have not tuned the load for the rifle.
The Griffin Armament Tactical Compensator/ Flash Hider reduced the felt recoil down to what you might expect from a heavy .223 load.
Here are a couple pix of the 300 yard groups.
Cheerz!
