I've had good luck with inkbird controllers. I don't use them for anything shooting related, but i have an incubator and brooder for quail with one on each, plus one with a window fan to keep the bedroom cool at night, but turn off before it gets too cold.

K-type thermocouple plugs...all my probes get these on the end and plug into the one on the box. 1 thermocouple per unit and controller can be moved from 1 unit to the next.

I really like that idea. One of ours is attached to the lead pot so that we have to move the pot and PID together because they are attached.
Amazon...amperage would depend on the wattage of the heating element
All of this, except not the relay output on the PID controller. Want the SSR output for controlling the SSR.

Longer thermocouple is great idea, I have the same and stick it right in the pot.
Some of the controllers come with both outputs but I wasn't paying attention once and got a controller that had only the relay output. The relay can be used for switching small loads (alarms, etc) but doesn't work for switching the SSR unless you provide some other DC power source for the SSR. Don't think it would last long switching high current loads.
edit: Apologies, just saw post 35 and it looks from the sketch there is SSR output on contacts #4 and #5, the picture on the relay label does show that, just didn't see it

Made one in a computer power supply box (rough looking and sharp edges) and a couple in electronics project boxes (kinda expensive and a tight fit).
The different sizes of plastic boxes like that are often on sale and fit right in with the other shooting and reloading supplies.

I wanted something to blend in, with no sharp edge's. I used a piece of 1/2 inch plywood to mount the terminal block's and relay heat sink. Made it easier to just pop in in and out to work on.

I ended up picking up the proper heat sink for the SSR. I spent a lot of time on Amazon and kept getting great deal's poping up, one of which was 3 heat sinks for $9.99. Other's were the switch I used and the mounted probe mount, the covered bus's for the wiring that came with more then enough crimp's for the job.
