I figured I'd post this for anyone that plans on a similar build / project. I had tried looking online prior to starting and there really wasn't a whole lot of info available. I had to get in touch with Matt at Manners, Jeff at CDI as well as Jerry a Mystic for bits of advise.

I did this with some ninja dremel skills. If you have access to a milling machine or someone you can pay to do this I'd likely go that route, you'll get a better product and a little less stress.

Firstly, the CDI's footprint is a tiny bit wider than the factory plastic on the sides. No too much more inletting to do here.

The biggest problem is going to be the depth of the inlet. The CDI will have to seat deeper into the stock for mag to reach the bottom of the action. A fair amount of material will have to be removed for this to happen. Make sure you take your time and be precise.

Another major consideration is the AI mag. It is too wide to fit into the bottom of the T3 action. There are two options; slightly mill the action to make the whole on the bottom a tiny bit wider, or shave the sides of the AICS mag to the same width as the T3 mag. I did this option with a file and it worked quickly and nicely.

It works great now! Both Jeff and Matt will say that it is a close fit for the new CDI. I disagree. You need to take out a lot of material and it takes time. It is doable though but it is a project.

Interested in starting a veeeery similar project.

I want the EXACT same Manners stock for my T3, but in LH. Where did you source it? How long and how much? Tried to order right from Manners and they said I need to use a distributor in Canada. KaChing.

Also, what material did you use for bedding? Looks like a very nice job!

What 'bits' did you find worked best in the dremel? I don't have a mill either, so looking to bastardize by hand. Have the Atlasworxs metal, so would like to inlet for that. Cheaper than even CDI! :)

Looks like a lotta work !! Congrats Great job!! Is that marine tex epoxy that you used ?

annnnd... is your recoil lug now a part of your stock forever ?
