Looking for input on an accuracy comparison between three types of slugs and two chokes.
I have a Browning BPS (Invector Plus chokes) and I am trying to determine the best "target style" slug to use with it. I understand that because the barrel is back bored I won't likely get top notch accuracy but still want to do best I can.
The barrel will be the 22" upland barrel with the chokes noted below.
I want to test:
Aguila mini slugs
S&B "Olympic" Slugs
Score Low recoil slugs
And for chokes:
Improved cylinder
Carlsons rifled choke.
I'm reasonably sure the Carlson will be at least a little better the question is how much.
My sight is a Fastfire 3 8MOA mounted via a Meadow Creek vent-rib mount so not the final word in precision.
I am thinking a 5 shot group from each load through each choke at 50 yards should be a good test. I am thinking to use a five inch circle as the target, this will allow me to nest the red dot fully inn the circle and still see a border.
Sound reasonable? Any predictions?
