I would like some input from people that have shot and owners that shoot with the FNX45 Tactical.
I'm looking at picking one up and I'd appreciate all input.

Thinking of tan color since I like the three tone look but not sure about how esthetically dirty they get and how durable the slide finish is?

-Reliability?

-Durability?

-Ease of purchasing repair parts? (hence not wanting an HK)

-Felt recoil vs other 45 platforms?

-Best price in Canada?

-Accessory recommendations? (RMR vs?, TLR1 vs?)

-Upgrades/modifications?

I've shot one a bit... Seems very robust and reliable. I don't know about the FNX, but FN America has been BRUTAL with parts for the FN-S. They can't even get parts in the US!!

Recoil was a little snappier than a 1911, but is probably due to the polymer lower and lighter weight. Still less than a .40 as I find .45 more of a "push" than a "snap" of a 9mm or 40.

The one I shot had a RMR on it (same as my Glock 17 MOS), which I like... The LED version, NOT the f/o.

Overall a solid choice in my book if you want a 45, but they aren't cheap!!!

I had one that broke 2 extractors within a year. Not sure if anything was out of spec but needless to say once I replaced it for the third time I sold it. I have never had a parts failure in any other of my handguns.

All good except for repair parts. If you can find a worse company for available spares I'd be shocked.

I have had my FNP-45 for quite some time. It thinks it is a match gun. I hate plastic pistols being a 1911 aficionado - well, I have tried hating this FN anyway, but it just keeps on going. It is accurate, never jams. Is lighter fully loaded that my Colt 1911 empty, fits my hand surprisingly well for a tupperware gun, and just keeps on ticking.

I wouldn't hesitate to get an FNX. It is a brute of a gun. Mine will probably never replace my 1911 fetish, and I probably won't keep it forever, but in the meantime, I am sure liking trying to hate this gun and loving it at the same time .....

I've only owned mine for about eight months so I don;t have a ton of rounds through it but it's been reliable so far for me. I don't have any experience with sourcing parts so I can't comment on that. Accuracy has been very good for me, and recoil is very pleasant too—less than I was expecting. I've got an RMR on mine that's worked out really well.

I wrote a detailed post on mine earlier this year in this thread here.
