Back on topic, I'm not so sure these Mosin prices are unreasonable. I'm seeing 3-500$ and from what I've heard some of these shipments were much higher quality guns (retailing around 5). The ones we were getting for 150 were mostly quite rough.
I don't notice SKS's going up much, great rifle, def. worth more, but still see many for $200 all the time. Exceptional examples I've seen asking $300/$350..not sure if they are selling though. Chinese SKS's have actually went down! A year ago they were alwayz more then Russian, $275/300 on EE, now some stores are selling them currently for $209.
Geese louses, what's a hex , or a fin worth??
What's next 500$ sks
I look at my collection as an investment. Almost all of them have increased substantially in value since I purchased them. (Excluding my SKS’s so far....)
With the inexpensive, hunting rifles readily available the milsurplus market is becoming more and more exclusively...a collector's market. I used to buy the milsurplus rifles because of the decent price. If you have some exposure to the auctions out there, it becomes fairly clear that the surplus market is becoming an expensive hobby. Many are already priced out of it.

Minty collector non refurb Soviet ones will fetch $450-500.
The prophecy is true.
Insane price for Mosins rifles
Is amazing how prices on Mosins start to perform: Tenda sell hex mosin for 550$. Shipped to my door will be around 650$. Is the same level with Swiss firearms.
Is near the price of SVT (regular price of SVT was triple than Mosin). Was produced 60 milions of Mosins during a century....
well I should of bought more of those Polish M-44s when SIR was closing up shop.
made some good coin off those when I sold them, sold off most of my Nagants.
Oh I still have a few with hex receivers and a Finn M24/98 SIG barrelbut I'm keeping those.
