Insite Arms?

It’s a long story, but the short version is, I had them build a rifle for me and when I got it home it wouldn’t feed. After a conversation or two with Andy I learned from him that everybody else in the industry is an idiot(that’s the way he worded it) and he’s the only one who actually knows anything, even though he’s the one who handed me a rifle that didn’t feed. He didn’t offer to fix it or make things right and I definitley wasn’t letting either of those two touch anything else of mine again. As of June,30/2023 Andy was “getting back to me on monday”. I gave up on waiting for a reply quite some time ago.

Now I expect the internet wizards on here will sh it on me for something I did wrong and let me know they’re opinion. Let’s hear it.

I had a similar experience. Communication was non existent.

Henry remple makes them feed like a dream
gunsmith from just east of Calgary and an actual master machinist
Im not saying Henry isnt a great machinist but I dont comment on other peoples work unless I have experience or used something theyve built. Ive never had the pleasure of using Henrys work. I have however used and owned or own guns built by Harley. They are all extremely accurate and run flawless for me. Harleys guns have worked and functioned like a dream for me. Im good with people thinkin he suks cuz my next wont have such a wait time HAHA. Ill put anything he builds against anybodys.

I also think insite is the best costom i own...! Second to none.
I have two in 6MM and both run flawless. One is 6BR and the other in 6Creed. The mags and whatever you put them in makes a big difference and everything needs to be cohesive. 6BR or any of the short derivatives are known to be tempermental about feeding but 95 percent is mags and the rest is whatever hardware its sitting in.

insite arms sponsors the timed stage for our local series.

winner of the timed stage gets a free heathen break. in the last 3 years, only 3 people have ever had the claim fulfilled, all the others get no answer or the run around and end up giving up.

pretty ####ty to sponsor a stage and get lots of recognition and not follow through. now the running joke with the series is you win the timed stage and get a worthless cert.

Sorry, I was just asking if anyone had heard from them. If they were still operating. Thanks for the answers. I didn'y mean to set of a firestorm. :(

I never did get a hold of them or get in to see their shop. Had a burger at Prophet yesterday though. Great o come theough town once in a while and make the stops.

I have dealt with Harley/Insite for more then 7 years and have had numerous rifle builds, had untold number of barrels spun up, and have had Harley inlet and bed more then a couple stocks, do all different kinds of custom work and I haven’t had one single bad experience in all those innumerable interactions. I’m not saying it can’t happen and I do feel honestly bad for other guys in the custom gun world that have bad experiences with any rifle builder, as this is certainly a crazy expensive hobby, and so frustrating when stuff isn’t up to everyone’s understandably high standards.

I have been competing in F-Class the last 4-5 years and you get to hear good and bad things about every rifle builder with all the guys all over western Canada and the States I shoot big matches with. Most of the guys I shoot with go thru minimum 3-5 barrels a year, and new rifle builds every couple of years, and you get to know what custom stuff shoots, and what is hit and miss.

I have learned to take all these up and down stories for what they are worth and not discount a company or builder on any one single bad experience. Henry in Calgary also makes great barrels, I have seen many of his shoot excellent, and win big matches, same for KS Arms, and IBI barrels that some of the top guys in Canada swear by, so my feeling is guys should deal where they’ve been treated good and get great customer service and get super accurate rifles built for the money. For me that is definitely Insite.
My last Insite F-Open custom rifle Harley built, allowed me to finish 10th overall at the 2025 SWN this year, at Ben Avery, against many of the top guys, and top gun builders in the world. And that is no small feat. If your rifle/barrel isn’t one of the best in the world, for repeatable accuracy and precision, you haven’t got a hope to see the leaderboard there.

I sure hope that all my other fellow Canadian shooters and gun lovers get their issues looked after and resolved to their satisfaction.
