Installation and set-up of iron's

Picked up an XCR recently which is currently sporting iron's. They came pre-installed from Wolverine as far as they can be spaced apart, both being at the ends of the top rail. My question is, since I couldn't find it on Troy's website, should I be positioning the rear sight to provide a certain amount of eye relief? Currently through the smaller aperture I can the entirety of the front HK style sight as well as about 3/32's around it. Not sure if I should position it further forward or bring my head tighter into the firearm?
 
Wolverine was right if they mounted them as far apart as posssile. These are iron sights, not an optic. Just take it out to the range and zero that sucker! Post some pictures.
