Installing a Front Globe Site Question - Gunsmith Job?

I have a recently acquired 1874 Sharps reproduction from Pedersoli, I grabbed a front globe sight and vernier rear sight for it as well as I don't see the blades as well as I would like. My question is should the front globe site slide right in or is this a gunsmithing job for a pro to get it to fit? I've done sight replacements before but that was with a different brand which did slide right in nicely with some light tapping from a small hammer and brass punch.

Should the pedersoli front sights slide right into their rifles?

Short answer: yes! They use a standard dovetail, 3/8" The rifle will accept both Pedersoli and Lyman globe sights. I've installed both and I'm not even a distant cousin to a gunsmith. If you have the Pedersoli windage adjustable front sight, you will have to dis-assemble it in order to access the lock screw in the sight base. Other than that, pretty straight forward.

Oldrodder is correct, I did the same thing to mine. Knock out the old sight and the new one will fit right in

Same here I have set up front globe sights on my Roller, Highwall and Sharpes.
