i recently installed an Ed Brown Perfection sear on my own without cutting a relief and the gun seems to work without any problem (cocked it, force the hammer forward, and it doesnt drop. fried 150 rounds , no problem) . is there any other work needs to be done besides cutting the primary and relief when installing a sear? this sear came with a pre cut primary . i will get my gunsmith to look my gun once my main and sear spring arrive .and i need to shoot a match in 2 days so is there any safety concerns if i just drop in an after market sear?

and this was the product discription :

" Sear is pre-fit to provide the least amount of hand work prior to installation. Primary angle is already cut; simply stone the correct relief angle and install"

Congratulations. You bought one of the best sears money can buy.

#### your hammer. Very slowly pull the trigger while watching the hammer. The hammer should move back a bit before it drops. If it does, the sear-hammer engagement is positive and the most important condition of gun safety is met. If the hammer does not move back, stays where it is or moves forward, your gun is NOT safe. There are more things which make your trigger safe or safer but this one is critical. Also very important is the spring tension of the sear leg of sear spring. Do not make it too weak.

When you bob off or relief the back of the sear, you will reduce the creep of your trigger. It doesn't effect the safety very much. What you have to be concerned about is the geometry of the full #### notch of hammer-sear engagement. Perfect sear is only one half of the success. Full #### notch cut on your hammer is the other half. If your gun is Norinco this cut may need some serious corrections.

Trigger job requires some special fixtures, stones, inspection tools, some knowledge and experience. If you don't have any, take your gun to a gunsmith who has all of the above.

Good luck. Kazimier

cool. the hammer does drop back very little. and i'll take it to a gun smith for sure when my springs arrive so he doesnt have to work my gun twice. i'll just throw everything in and be like " here's the gun , i want a match trigger job " :D
