Installing an m14 muzzle brake without the castle nut

Hey guys. I just bought an m14 muzzle brake that connect right to the factory Norc threads without the castle nut. The brake tightens up using a crush washer. Has anyone here installed a brake like this before on their m14? The crush washer doesnt want to fit over the factory threads (i suspect they accidentally sold me a AR crush washer). Im gonna go back to the store/ shop this evening to ask about it just in case they did sell me the wrong washer.

FYI, it was bought from extreme gun centre in wpg. Seems like a nice brake though

Crush washer probably won't work on a stock barrel it needs a shoulder to sit against.
Jest Tighten the break up and call it done.

Yeah i thought about that but the problem is that the brake locks up on th barrel at the 2 oclock position. It doesnt really tighten up at 2, just locks up.

Never seen a break like that but if you're putting the site back on it will have to be timed obviously. Sounds like the muzzle seated in the break. And they are still threads to be had. sounds like a crush washer would work if it had a shoulder to sit against Maybe somebody else is familiar with that design.

Pretty sure you should have received a jam nut....

I see on their website they have a M14 crush washer. Maybe that will work

Yeah i did buy an m14 crush washer but it didnt actually fit over the treads so my thought is that they actually sold me a standard ar15 crush washer instead

I'm Not sure how your front sight will fit on that dovetail fitting on the f/h

Front sight sits fine actually. The picture on the website makes the dovetail alsmost look backwards but its not.

Like you said in your first post head back to the store tonight check on crush washer availability for that design. There is probably no visible threads for a jam nutwhen the brake is on?

I managed to get the brake on without the crush washer. She snugged up nice and tight actually. Thanks for the replies.
