Installing the new NEA upper receiver. Lots of pics!

Just got this in the mail today. Nicely packaged in an NEA logo'd cardboard box.

Compared to my Armalite upper:

All the necessary parts:

Barrel inserted in upper. Nice, snug fit with no slop at all:

Barrel nut tightened and gas tube installed:

Samson steel insulating brackets clipped on the barrel nut:

Samson rail slid partially on the brackets:

Rail fully seated and tightened:

All the crap bolted on:

All in all a very nice upper that I'm quite happy with. It's great to have a well-priced, Canadian-made, quality upper available for black rifle fans. The only problem I encountered was with the Brownells vice block. I had to relieve a couple of spots on the inside in order to get it to fully close on the NEA upper. The external profile of the billet upper is slightly different from the forged one the block is designed for.

the whole thing looks great but one thing you have to do is to test fire it c if you get any malfunctions in the process

Those are the foundry markings to identify which foundry the forgings came from. Numerous different companies will get their forgings from only a handful of foundries. As such, lots of companies have the same foundry markings.

NEA doesn't need a little symbol since they just mark it as an NEA product.

I was meaning some thing like this but with out the NEA since it's labeled on the other side;

Defenatly excited to see what the 100% Canadian is going to look like at the end.
As for were the forgings came from Armedsask. I would gather right here in Canada. Hence why I would like to see a Canada character label right on it. Just cuz this is a 100% made in Canada product.

what is the difference between the two uppers? Seconds?? what are those? Ones that were made on monday morning, or friday afternoon?
