Newb question. Is it worth finding and fitting a new barrel on a 35 + yr old Interarms 7mm Rem mag?
Bedded on a synthetic stock way back when! Literally thousands of rounds through until it won't group anymore. Just send to a gun smith and hope for a good take off?
Cheers

I had it done to a Remington 798 .300 WM which is a Zastava (= Interarms) barreled action in a Remington laminate stock. Depends if you think it's worth it. Could cost upwards of a grand depending on the barrel you specify.

Thanks for the reply, yeah it does have some sentimental value but not a grand worth! The sloppy Mauser action and flat shooting cartridge did make it my go to rifle for mulies and moose. I do have other rifles so it isn't a necessary thing, more like a like to thing.

These are very good quality Mauser M98 sporting actions that are well worth Ignore. Try to find a decent M98 Mauser take off barrel in a similar sized magnum calibre that you like and have it fitted and chambered for a reliable and long lasting dependable hunting rifle that is generally better and longer lasting than what you would spend on a new plastic parts cheap new rifle.
