Interest in Mossberg 590A1 14" or 14" 590A1 CYL/MOD Barrels imported by Irunguns?

I ordered a TruGlo small fiber optics front sight for $9 from Brownell's. It's in the mail. I'll post a pic once I get it installed.

Can someone measure the gap between the forend and barrel ring on their 14" 590A1 for me please? If there's enough real estate along the mag tube then my CDI MTC flashlight mount should work. Mine won't be here till next Thursday.

What LOP stock options you have in mind? Also, where can we buy brass bead?

Taccessories has the Hogue 12" LOP stock (just bought one). Also going to buy the Choate pistol grip stock (about 13" LOP) on Brownell's and the sight that Juan posted below.

Although I haven't shot with my 14" yet, my recoil pad although thick - feels hard as a rock. I think felt recoil is going to be quite stiff on this one. My 18.5" 590A1 I owned a little while ago, had a much softer, pliable recoil pad. I could be wrong, but these hard recoil pads don't seem to absorb much recoil and your shoulder takes it all.

Anyone receive one with a more pliable recoil pad? I guess it doesn't matter that much as I have 2 stocks on order anyway...

Think I will shoot it with the OEM stock and slap my wood stock w/soft recoil pad on there and see the difference.

I was going to go shooting today, but my delivery was bumped up a day so I'm expecting my 14" in a few hours from now.

Anyone have a wood set from a Field model, forend made for the short action bars? I like how mine feels with a wood buttstock.

Old wood stock has a longer & thicker pistol grip section on my 14" 590A1 and shaves off a good inch of LOP. Might strip it and paint/stain it black. I have other stocks coming to try but I'm impressed with the feel of the old wood stock. Of course, options are limited to the short action bar forend unless I can find a short wood set, if anyone has a short wood forend and set made for the 6.5-6.75" action bars, PM me with pics. I have a WTB ad in the EE.

Below is my 18.5" Road Blocker with stock brake and Hogue overmolded forend/PG.

I got the 590 and Surefire forend today, as expected, awesome. The SF fits great, no issues cycling the action. I'll post pics when I get my Hogue stock.

Had a little fun today with an old dining table on the farm... leaned it up to an earthen backstop and shot 10rds of 7.5 and 10 rds of 00 Buck from 15ft. Shot my Roadblocker from the hip so unsure if you'll be able to see the spread or any type of pattern. It was getting so dark I needed a flashlight to find my spent shells...

That's a nice shotgun on the bottom.

All you need is to find at least 28 in barrel for it, and you are all set. ;)

No thanks. Had a 28" and never used it. I got what I need. Maybe I'll cut a wood stock to a PGO to meet the overall length of 26" and try it...

Cool. I've got two shotguns with GR sights already though, no need or want for another.
I'd rather install a PIC rail on my 14" bead gun and put a red dot on it than have GR's.
I've heard way too many stories about accuracy issues with GR's on short barrels. I think wanting GR's is mostly a "look" thing for people.

Also, at that pricepoint I'd rather get a 12.5" 870 Dlask for less.
It would also prevent me from having a second Speedfeed stock in my parts bin.

Do you know if the bead sight is still visible with the picatinny rail installed? I'm asking anticipating a scenario where the red dot ####s the bed/battery dies (no time to change) and you take off the red dot via the QD attachment in order to continue shooting with the bead sight.

I posted a thread in Irunguns section about the importation of 14" barrels, especially the modified version that seems to have the demand. If you want one, go post over there.

Good, solid, tough shotgun.

I think I will enjoy owning it. :)

A flush mounted rail, no.
I would get a slightly elevated rail, because I would be installing one of my raised cheek welds on my SGA stock for a level sight picture anyways.
