Looking into practical options . Can a 336 or 94 simply be re-barrelled? Not interested in a Sav 340 too crude. Re-bore a NEF .22 Hornet ? Then there's ROT 1894's were 1-8 for the 117gr RN but I'd like something slower in SS's to shoot everything from 75gr -100gr/120gr. A Savage 99 in .22 HP could be re-bored . Ideas welcome.

Yes older 94' s were 8 twist after Winchester reintroduced the 25-35 Chambering they went with a 10 twist.. That will indeed stabilize any usable 25 cal bullet suitable in the chambering..
I personally would opt for a 94.. Only because I had one and let it go in a weak moment..... Good luck with your project

Same here, but if I did it again I would do it on 336

I'm at the age I need a scope. Only thing with a lever is you can only use pointy bullets as a two shooter.

They must they're in their factory ammo . Whether it's available in components ....who knows? I read somewhere Hornady dropped the 100gr SP and the 117gr RN ?
