Where can you get Gen 3 stuff for $3000? That's pretty good. I am looking at spending that much on Gen 2+ stuff.

Well guys, after a long delay the Alpha Optics Gen 2+ NVM14 is now in stock and I just put my order in. My plan is to get the monocular and head gear now, and later add a bridge and another monocular to make them into binocular goggles. I read a study by the DOD that said that binoculars work best, then just one monocular, and lastly one monocular for both eyes. So I'm going the binocular route. It will cost about $4000 or so to do. I can't wait. Now I need to find NV compatible optics. Also since I'm spending so much, I don't think I'm going to let anybody play with my new toy.

years ago i obtained a pair of soviet googles, they were Gen one, passive, and were excellent. back then they were around 4 grand.. I could easily drive my truck with the lights off in darkness, just the stars lighting them.scared the hell out of one of my buddies! LOL.. I should never have sold them.... :-(

I hope you got a good enough price for them that you could buy Gen 2s. I'm happy I skipped Gen 1 and went right to Gen 2.

You can run into some pretty severe limitations.
