Interested in the TT-33

Nice looking! Can you show us a view that shows off the rear sight?
The GPW mag bases give a much better grip on the traditional TT. All of the three lower fingers fit!

This is the only one in my photobucket right now but I can take a picture of it when I get home, You can kinda get and idea. I replaced the barrel with a brand new one so its silver now, I think I might blue it.

Bought mine from wiemajack, I think its only one of four in the country, Always meant to pick up a stock Russian and a pole too! great guns and I highly suggest one or 4, Iam going to have to look at those mag bases that were posted

What year and country? Is that parkerized or blued?

Looks wonderful.

Those grips look real nice, what are they and how thick are they? I've got some ebony fret board stock a buddy gave me and I was thinking of making some grips to replace the slim stock grips, those look comfy to hold.

Craig has a Soviet custom target conversion TT-33.

Lots of pictures in this thread. Hope the sight views are sufficient.

(If you still have the original re-numbered and blued barrel, keep it! There are very few of these.)

As you will see, the grip frame has been re-shaped for this style. Could do the work if you can weld…

I do still have the barrel but the bore is a little worse for wear, I'll still always hang onto it though

The TT33 was my first private personally owned handgun.
It's dirt cheap. Built like a tank, very cheap to shoot. The cartridge is powerful to the point of being excessive as a pistol round.
Need parts? Just buy two more TT33 handguns!! One for cannibalizing parts and the other just because!
They are easy to strip and clean, easy to trouble shoot. Extremely reliable and relatively accurate.
Pretty much the best option in this country for a first hand gun. Do yourself a favour though and get a Soviet one. You'll just regret not having that dirty CCCP star on the handle eventually for no real reason whatsoever.

I see that now, very nice work. I thought it looked a bit different at first glance.

I won't be going that far but I will give making grips a shot once work calms down in sept, it's the only thing about the tok is like to change. I find it too slim and I don't have huge hands, little width will be welcome, although I bet it will fit my wife's hands as it is now.

Cheers

I bought one and reblued it. Mine is Pole -- 1952. Bites my aquaman hands, but is so slim and small in the hands its still a fun gun (and cheap) to shoot. Be careful with the slide lock retainer clip as the steel can get brittle and break -- they are getting tougher to find.
BTW-- the steel took a blue VERY nice. Its getting tougher and tougher to get a budget gun with such a sweet glossy blue finish as these guns have.

So no Canadian dealers for those floor plates? I see they now ship to Canada, but between the exchange rate and their handling fee it's gonna be $100 for two of them. Not happening. :(

I have a Russian TT-33 1944) and just love it... Solid gun, fairly easy to take apart, and it shoots inexpensive ammo, what's not to like. It shoots pretty well too... Now, I just might have to buy a Zastava M57, a more recent pistol developed using the TT-33 as a starting point. Anyone has any feedback regarding the Zastava M57?
