Interested newb from Hamilton, ON

Greetings all. Title makes the point I guess. Friend took me up to Silverdale with a Savage 30-06 and ... Now I want in! Looking at .22 auto to get started (597 looks nice & reviews well), but the .17's are very tempting too. No plans to hunt, just punch holes in things from far away ... Thus the temptation!

Welcome....every Nut needs a .22. I have a 597 and I like it a lot. If you get one check out rimfire central .com, there's a lot of info and mods. I also have a 17hmr that I'm quite fond of, and many other calibers that I found reasons that I could not do without...welcome to the addiction.
