I was at a military show on Sunday, and I bought an interesting air pistol. its is marked as a "Diana Mod 2, Made in Great Britain" . Now i know this sound strange, but as far as i know Diana is a German company. Whats stranger still is that the guy who sold it to me said it was made in the late 40s, so its kinda ironic. Its grip look like that of a Luger, and is a little on the small side.
Loading is a interesting concept. you have to push in the barrel to #### it(spring powered) then, unscrew the rear plug, and insert the pell, rescrew the plug, and fire. there is no safety. Does any one know the value or have any more info. I would put pictures, but I'm on dial up.

It has a wooden stock, held to the barrelled action by two cross pins? Smoothbore?
If it is the one I think it is, I had one about 50 years ago. Cost between $5 and $10, if I remember correctly. In addition to pellets, I shot kitchen matches out of it.
There was a similar pistol, all metal, looked sort of like a Broomhandle, called "The Gat".

I cannot help with current valuation. Airguns are a serious collecting specialty, but are outside my field.

Sounds like a Gat air pistol... found one exactly like you describe wwaayyyy back about 1955 in a summer cabin mom & dad rented for vacation.
not very powerful even for an air pistol.. they go for about $60 in UK....
