I came across this piece which does a pretty good job of summing up the shotgun side of things.

First shotgun I bought was a Charles Daly/ Miroku Superior grade 12 guage, 26 inch imp.cyl/ mod., paid exactly $300 and $9 pst . I was 16 at the time and Dad said he would go halves on a shotgun with me. Still got it , shot a lot of first with that gun.

Ran across this a few years ago, saved it just in case it needs smithing at some point.

No, John Whelan's. Johnny Raso wasn't in business yet, was still just a mom and pop grocery store. I got it in 1966.

LOL! A bit before my time, but I do remember that the guy at Olympic Sports would open a box and sell us shotgun shells 5 at a time. He also accepted Canadian Tire money!
Sounds like that Miroku has served (and continues to serve) you well. I'm guessing it could be a Type 2 version?
