well, after after almost 6 months of this process, today I was finally able to take MY gun to the range and shoot. I went with a few buddies and they all brought a ton of guns.

I went and purchased 150 9mm rounds and put them through my S&W m&p 9mm. It was dead today so we got to do some police drills that we normally do at work.

I started out playing with the grip and as much as I wanted to use a medium grip, I was shanking to the left too much with it on. I switched to the small and things got better. I then really spent some time with some slow shooting to get a feel for the gun as I am use to sig and glocks with work.

The gun started to work better after I put the first 100 rounds through it. By the last box, I was hitting where I needed to.

So all in all a great day, very relaxing and a nice time for me to shut things off and go have some fun. Theraputic like

I tell you shooting that m&p all day and grabbing onto a glock was like grabbing a brick. I will say, I like shooting the glock but that m&p is super comfortable in my hand.

So this is a big FU to the CFO, after all the hoops you made me jump, I am soooo glad that I followed through with it.

Yeh its a great feeling. Getting my first Handgun was like my first time with a women, my first house, my first car. Its abit of a process, but now you have to watch cause the hobby is addicting. Your gonna want more guns, more ammo. and more time at the range. I would recommend a 22 to go with your 9. Mabey the M&P 22. I hear good reviews for it. Its great getting down hundreds and hundreds of rounds down the pipe to go along with your centerfire cal. Gives you great practice not having to worry about ammo cause 22 is so cheap.

Have fun.

nice, I wonder how many people are like me and get so tired of waiting for a license, that when it finally comes buy a restricted within a week

Good stuff OP, the m&p is a solid pistol. I ran +\- 4000 rounds through mine with no hiccups. Then I sold it... It's almost time for another one :D
