If I violate any rules with this post, please forgive me. I found this on the net. I would jump at the chance if I were 20 years younger or didn't have a wonkie ticker... SW

"This is going to be an incredible expedition. The idea is to re-enact the voyage of Alexander Mackenzie and his crew in the year 1789. Everything will be period correct ~ birch bark canoes, clothing, food, supplies, language, everything. Anyone can do a canoe trip, it takes a Voyageur to do it 200+ years ago! The journey is from Winnipeg, north through the province of Manitoba, across Saskatchewan, north through Alberta, and north again through the Northwest Territories to the Bering Sea and Tuktoyaktuk."

thats pretty damn cool. But five months, on a boat, with old hairy men, can be a big turnoff:eek:

It will be a challenge, thats for sure. You have to be fit in every way!

Looks really cool... too bad about the french bit and no evidence of firearms. I noticed a little bit about native members being wanted, for legal hunting I suspect.

I think the flint lock part comes in where he says he is looking for "aboriginals with privilages" I am thinking a status card gets you the comfy seat, no paddling and the choicest cuts of subsistence moose!
