Taking the T.D deer hunting this year, 40 yard or closer and was loading some Hornady XTP 230gn on top of W231. Loaded 5.0, 5.3, 5.5 and 5.7 with an average speed out of the XD 5" at 715, 731,775 and 800. Interestingly the T.D with its 18" barrel gave me an average of 810, 873, 906 and 925. Honestly I thought they would be faster but then I realized the powder burns up immediately unlike a rifle. Just thought you might find this of interest.

Seeing as the chrony was out I checked my factory Remington 230 RN and found it averaged 840 out of the XD and 1005 out of the T.D.

Interesting, I never bothered chrongraphing my thureon mostly because I do not own a chrony

3 deer and a bear fell victim to the thureon last year. I am somewhat regretting selling it,all were head shot.I found the 45 Cal adequate for that but none of them had exit wounds so keep it in mind
If I cannot get my 45/70 lee enfield to shoot subsonic better I will probably get another one
