Hey,

I inherited a Finnish Mosin, I cannot tell if it is a m28-30 or M39.

It has no serial number on the receiver. The only clear stamping is “ MAHLU “ which is a village in central Finland where my Pappa is from.

There are a few clear markings here and there. Mostly the Sako emblem on the front post.

I cannot get clear photos as I’m travelling but I’ll assemble it when I finally make it home.

It is a sporterized *COUGH* M28/30. Easiest way to see that is a pre-1939 date stamp and the ladder sight starts at 200m not 150m as on the M39.

Certainly reminds me of my old 28/30, except that notch in the boltface rim. The trigger mods and interupters worked great on those rifles.
