Interesting headstamp .38 S&W?

I found an interesting odd case in a batch of 1F range brass.

I'm assuming it's a 38 S&W as it's a rimmed case, about .905 long, and .378 just ahead of the extractor groove. Yes, I said extractor groove. Unlike the old Dominion .38 spec cases, this has a relief cut just ahead of the rim.

The headstamp is IVI 38 FX.
