The second one in the original post used to be sold in Eatons way back in the day. The CFB Halifax Canex in Stadacona also had them in a glass case. IIRC they were imported by Premier Cutlery now long gone.
Post war West German manufacture. Premier was an importer of quality hunting knives from all over Western Europe. It was like the world knives website but an offline 1960's - 1970's version. These sort of knives (Solingen carbon steel sheath knives)you mostly only see for sale on Ebay or in the odd pawn shop in various states of disrepair.
Interesting version of the Bundeswehr combat blade (green handle). The ones I have seen have a longer blade with a steel cross guard bent down in front. No bottle opener though.
They are on the brittle side.
The more rare version had a shorter blade & grip. I think the shorter version might have been for airborne troops. Never saw one of the shorter ones except for a b&w pic in an old book from the 1970's.
