so a while back i made my 'Lite 10/22' gun and i really like it.
i must admit i dont get it out as much as i would like..... there are just so many nice guns to choose from in my stable!
but i found a interesting problem today.
i was routing around in my gun safe to get out a rifle i had ordered some new sights for and had to move this Green Lite 10/22 of mine and when i went to move it the front NDK site moved.... and not a little, like 1/4 turn around the barrel moved!
so i pulled the rifle out and had a look and the front site, i was able to just grab it and it came right off the gun.
out to the shop i went with it and i sat back and tried to figure out why this happened.
near as i can figure the all aluminum barrel i have on that gun contracted a little since the gun is cold?
thus making the sight loose?
i had a look at the sight itself, the 2 set screws are just pressure holding onto the barrel so i decided i did not want this problem to happen again.
i took a spring loaded center punch and marked where the 2 small screws press fit at and then i drilled a small 1mm-2mm divot into the top of the barrel there.
put the sight back on, loctite onto the screws, cranked them in, snug as a bug now.
anyone else running the NDK front sight ever have a issue like this??
