You do know what the nickname for a Savage is, right? It's like a Hyundai - it's called Salvage.
Oh? Do tell. Please...educate us all on this sad story.
Is it really necessary to turn this thread into another Savage vs Remington poop show? That certainly wasn't the point of it.

Funny that they're all sold......since I called today and was told that the rifles hadn't even been processed yet and to call back in a couple days.

Sadly, it's a gun store. Like any motorcycle dealership (another hobby I'm very involved with), don't expect much from the them. More often then not, you'll be let down.
I imagine they'll be stocked everywhere pending you guys can give it some time.
Not sold out. Not even received into the system yet. I said give us a few days to get them sorted out.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. There is a great bunch of hard working guys here trying to get cool stuff on the shelves for you. We got 4 or 5 pallets of guns on the loading dock all at once. We are also undergoing renovations in the shipping/receiving area and we have to continue to ship all kinds of web and phone orders. We want to have these guns ready to sell as much as you want to buy them so cut us a little slack would you?

but for the one that asked what to expect from a 16in .223,
I have a custom built reminton in .223 with a 16in. barrel, it is VERY accurate out to 200yard ( read well below 2in. ) and, at 100y, all the round stay within 1in, i have used it last year to hunt varmint and it's a OK, you don't lost on accuracy with a short barrel, only on stopping power... i decided to go with 16 in barrel after talking to a few hunter that use AR-15 in the state to hunt and they are satisfied with 16in barreled rifle !!!

by looking in my safe you can tell i love Remingtons, but what exactly makes these "tactical"
they are a Model 700 with a short barrel and a Hogue stock, no detachable mag, no "real" stocks like the old VS/Police series

And he said no 16.5" barrelled Rem 700 SPS Tacticals have EVER been ordered, in any caliber.
Maybe straiten your sales staff out...
