We would need an order of 50 or more barrels for this order. We do not ship outside of the US so you would need to contact an export/import company to ship the order for you. The price of an extended Kahr barrel is $165.00 plus S&H. (Retail is $220.00. We offer a 25% discount on 50+ barrel orders). We would need a 50% deposit to start the order. Delivery is 16 to 20 Weeks. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.

Thank you,

So all in all, we would need 50 people who are interested in purchasing a Kahr to come forward and express interest, which I honestly don't think would be all that difficult.

If you are interested, please say so and maybe a retailer might pick up the ball on this one.

Well, to say that I'm dissapointed would be an understatement.

Not that I'm specifically calling anyone out on this, and I'm sure the fact that we are in pretty bad recession isn't helping, but keep in mind that we now have an interested party who is offering to make the barrels, and that as far as I'm concerned is 50% of the leg work to get this project off the ground.

I stand by my comment that of potentially tens of thousands of handgun owners in Canada, someone SHOULD be able to import 50 of these and sell them relatively easily. I'd love to do it myself, but I have neither the funds nor experience to accomplish such a task.

Myself, I can't stand the fact that we already have such a limited selection of guns up here to chose from.

Why would anyone go out of their way to get a Kahr? People buy Kahrs only because they can't get a mini Glock or Kel-Tec or Rohrbaugh.

Well, I've never given Kahr much thought. What model and caliber? If you wish to debate, tell us what makes them so hot.

Kahr makes several different versions of guns, .380, 9mm, .40 and .45auto.

To be honest, I don't know what makes them so hot. I don't think I've ever read a bad thing about them, but having never shot one, I have limited first hand knowladge of what would make them superior to a Glock.

All of their guns are very similar to Glock, however. All are DAO and they offer both a polymer and stainless frame combinations for most of their guns.

The unfortunate part for us is that Kahr doesn't already make a Canadian legal length barrel. The longest barrel they do offer is 4.04" and is offered in both the TP4543 and TP9 versions.

This is a polymer framed TP4543 (.45 Auto) with the 4.04" barrel:
USD retail is $535

And likewise, this is the 9mm version with same barrel length (TP9):
USD retail is $535

Now myself, personally, I would love to get my hands on on of these. Same guns as above, but with a stainless frame and wood grips.

Kahr T-9 stainless (9mm - also available in .45 Auto)
USD retail of $605

Either way, I really don't care what in the end is deemed profitable by the Canadian dealer and is imported. I also don't really care if it's a 9mm or .45 Auto version (they also make both versions in .40SW).

If you consider the retail price of these guns + the cost of the barrel @ $160 USD, we are looking at roughly $700 - $800 USD. Now how much the Canadian mark up would be to make it worthwhile to bring these in, I don't know. I'm assuming that they would be in that $1000 range which would put it in the same class as a really nice Glock, a really crappy Sig, or right in line with the Beretta PX-4.

That's fine dude. I can see that you are obviously quite happy with the piss poor selection of handguns we already have available in Canada and that makes you, in my eyes, both easily pleased and a poor gun owner.

Would the 4.04" barrel length T9p be legal for import if there's enough interest?
If they took Glock mags I'd definitely be on :D

I use and carry a Kahr 9 for free every day and believe me, I wouldn't pay a cent for it. The only advantages I can see is that I can tuck it inside my waistband.

So as for a target shooting point of view (99.9% of pistol owner), it's not useful at all.

But I can agree that the cool factor would be nice at the range. :p

My 2 cents

Where did you carry a Kahr?

The only other gun I'm even remotely interested in right now is an HK P30L. Looks like that's my next purchase.

Right here in Canada (QC). Every day that I go to work I choose between my P99 and my Khar9. Depends how I feel. :p
Sure sux to be you!
P99 or Khar9
And you have to trust your life with these two junker's & there in 9mm...
Man I would be crying everyday to my chief!

Why do you want a Kahr? Just to be different? They are not particularly good pistols, especially when you consider the price point after all the import and custom barrel manufacturing expenses.

No. The question is not why I want one, but why you don't want one. The last time I checked, Canada had a really piss poor selection of handguns to pick from, compared to the US.

What do we really have to pick from? Glock, Sig, HK, Beretta and 1911's. That's it, really.

I see no reason why people would be against a new gun in Canada, honestly.

You forgot Colt, S&W, Ruger, Dan Wesson, Taurus, Browning...

I don't think it's so much that people are against a new gun in Canada, it's more like they're not particularly interested in THIS gun. I don't see how a relative lack of selection is a good enough reason, in and of itself, to want to buy a Kahr.

Tanfoglio.. CZ... Magnum Research... Springfield Armory.. Steyr... Walther...are others that arent mentioned..
