I took a roadtrip to see the gun display at the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody, Wyoming. I was more than a little surprised to see so many p14 and 17s on display, as well as a large collection of Lee Enfields.

The wife and I were in Cody to shoot the Wyoming State Championships for Cowboy Action last month and spent 2 days at the museum. What a rush! 5 separate museums under 133,000 square feet. The firearms museum had 1,500 guns upstairs and 1,200 guns downstairs. The "Dug up Gun" Museum just down the road was pretty impressive also. The Buffalo Bill Museum is a must see though.

So, Dosing, did you manage to get your little cat paws on any of them and bolt out the door before they could stop you?

Inquiring minds want to know.:D

Nope :(
If I had known they had so many interesting P14s/17s I would hae booked some research time, but didnt

Drag.:(

Those heavy-barreled sniper P14's intrigue me the most, I thought they had been converted into some kind of elephant gun at first glance.

The two normal rifles to the left of them, and the one to the right, look to be in mint/unaltered condition.

In any case, it looks like a cool place to visit.:)

Without seeing the muzzle end of the large cylindrical fixture on those two rifles, I will reserve judgement. Might not be a "sniper version" with a very large Maxim type suppressor. Could just be a barrel jacket ....

They are experimental HB snipers, there are more pictures in the photo forum, including the description cards. Apparently the Americans played around with alot of ideas with the Enfields.
