Interesting pistol

Saw an interesting "Antique" pistol at the Nanaimo gunshow today
The barrel was from .557 rifle, c/w folding leaf sights, home made stock, nicely done,with a percussion lock.
He was asking $450 for it, maybe mooncoon might have some more info on it, he had a table across from the seller ?

Au contraire or something like that. The barrel was an original from a British military pistol @ 1845 to 1860 ish and the gun was made around it. What was particularly interesting is that it is the only barrel of that type that I have seen with the original rear sight on it. a fixed sight plus two leaf sights attached. The gun on my table was using the same barrel but a snider lock converted to percussion because the original pistols appeared to used the same lock as the percussion enfield rifle and the snider enfield. If it is like my gun, it will be accurate with a patched .570 ball and 30 odr 40 gr of powder

Here is my version of the pistol and I think it is pretty close to the original model apart from lacking a brass butt cap. The one Nessy commented on was quite different with a curved butt, brass butt cap and as I recall a band around the muzzle end similar to the Charleville and Springfield rifles. In looking through Flaydermann, the closest gun that comes to my memory is a percussion version of the 1816 Simon North pistol
