ran out to the range today to finally test out the clean up job i did on my 50th anv 10/22 and i found a interesting problem.
it will fire a round, eject and reload the next round but wont fire.
so its reloading but not resetting the trigger.

i did some farting around with it once i got home and i noticed that if you pull the trigger it will fire, if you keep the trigger pulled and work the bolt to reset it then release the trigger it wont be cocked.

i tested this on 4 other 10/22s and they WILL reset.

so looks like for some reason im having a trigger reset problem.

now i was thinking about what all i did to this gun when i was cleaning it up and i recall i swapped out the plastic trigger for metal silver one i had in my parts bin. but that was the only part from the trigger group i messed with.

interesting problem, eh?

anyone run into this before?
anyone have a solution?

i still have the gun apart in the shop and im gonna take out the metal trigger and put back the plastic one and see if that corrects the problem, then we can chalk that up to the seer and the trigger not matching up i guess.

ill report back after i muck around some more.

interesting.

so i opened up the trigger and dumped everything out and noticed that i handnt only swapped out the trigger but i had also swapped out the hammer and seer and disconect too.
guess i decided to keep all of the group together for some reason.

so i swept all that aside and put the stock stuff back in, works fine.

very very strange.
that other set came from one of my dads 10/22's when i swapped it all out for some VQ stuff for him last winter.
its strange because he never had a problem with the trigger just wanted lighter and smoother so we swapped out with the VQ kit.
so that trigger group should be working fine.
but putting it in the plastic trigger body has made something NOT fine.

definitely sounds like the disconnector dosnt it.

ah well, guns working once again.
ive got the questionable parts on the desk still, ill maybe go have a look at them again and see if i can spot the issue.
(there is probably a TI part in there somewhere!)
