Interesting SMLE Nosecap

Recently acquired a Number 1 mark III nosecap with a hole where the bayonet lug should be. I read somewhere that this might be an Ishapore variation. Does anyone out there recognize it? And (most importantly) are they worth anything?

The early nose caps had a lightening hole in the bayonet boss, looks like this one had it cut off exposing the hole.

Yes, it's been bubba'd. Someone filed the bayonet lug off and trimmed the ears.

It does not look bubba'd to me. It looks factory. And I did read about a square eared no lug variation from RFI. But I can't seem to find a picture of one anywhere. Oh well. Probably just keep it as a curiosity.

IMHO, I am 100% certain is is a home-made modification. If you choose to believe otherwise, I would suggest purchasing The Lee Enfield Story by Ian Skennerton to check for yourself.
