interesting Vanguard

Picked this up today...a seldom seen Weatherby Vanguard VGL model...complete with factory installed McMillan stock and lightweight 20" barrel..in 30-06. Someone added a stainless muzzle brake, weighs an even 7lbs as pictured....it hasn't seen much use...wonder what use a guy can find for this?.....I know one thing for sure.....it's going to be loud

Those are nice rifles, manufactured as I recall in the mid 80's. I had one in 7Mag for a while; even without a muzzle break it was loud!

the perosn who put the brake on might have shoulder problems my old boss can't shoot anything much bigger the a 270 and only a couple shots at a time due to a problem with his shoulder he developed this when he was riggin too much time on the brake handle of a rig so he is extremely recoil sensitive now

You can always have some one turn up a threaded cover for the treads and remove the break

project underway...the thread is 1/2" UNEF..(Unified National Extra Fine).......28 TPI...picking up a tap today...
