Interesting what you find in a gravel pit during hunting season.... :)

I have a .308 that was fired in a .30-06 on my bench (range find). The worst I have seen is a guy shooting 7-08 in a 7mm mag tikka - was very angry about his junk rifle that wouldn't extract worth a #### and was defective from the factory. Was pretty cool to see the rim perfectly fire formed with no case neck left (looked like a .450 marlin case). He showed me five pieces of brass he had to bang out of the chamber with a cleaning rod in his "garbage rifle".

There is also the guy who decided to take a 7-800yd shot at a deer and was angry that his new rifle (boresighted from the factory and up until that point unfired by the owner) couldn't hit anything.

I have seen this a few times. I posted a thread on exactly the same cases a few months ago.

The person here shot about 20 rounds of 300win mag in a 300 Weatherby in one sitting.

Then I found maybe 20 more over a few weeks around the area.

Had to dig up this old thread to add my findings at the range today. A 300 win mag almost cracked at the web, a 300 win fired in a 300 wby? and a catstrophic 300 win. Then just throw 'em on the ground and leave.... OMG

Saw a fellow shooter fire a .308Win cartridge in a Savage 110 .30-06 with interesting results, lol. Know another local who has an old Parker-Hale 1200 that his Dad had re-chambered to .300 Weatherby back in the late sixties. He shoots factory .300 Norma Magnums in it for deer hunting "cause it's easier on deer" and has the re-formed Wby cases loaded by a friend for moose hunting, sheesh.
