Well I wonder where the RCMP is on this little gem. Would be an interesting piece for the collection.

The suppressor system seems incredibly small, I wonder what the reduction in decibels would be compared to a standard suppressor that averages -30?

You can have like 3 different sizes of the suppressor on that gun and with the biggest one it doesn't look small at all. I don't have any numbers at disposal but I guess it should be on par with an average suppressed pistol.

"in the short configuration, the Maxim 9 remains hearing safe with subsonic ammunition." Hearing safe is good enough for a lot of people. It would have home defense advantages, since you could actually carry it around.

I don't get it. According to their own website, the report is still in the 136 to 139 dB range which is still very loud (above the threshold of pain and louder than a jackhammer) and into hearing damage range with repeated exposure

Watch the video. Doesn't look like or sound like anyone is damaging their ears.

Saw the vid. Extremely loud sounds aren't reproduced well in YouTube and can be edited down.

I'm just saying, the manufacturer's own website rates the loudness at 136 dB (for the long version) to 139 dB (for the short version).
That there is into jackhammer and hearing damage territory.
