I'm happy to say that it is the correct 13.259" gas block location to use standard ar15 rifle length tubes! Not particularly happy about the burrs on the extension. however the metal is hard enough a file won't touch them!?!?! The gas hole measures around .100" with a caliper, seems to have a bit of a burr in the rifling area. The gas block diameter is .748"and 1.950" or so in length. The rifling/bore looks smooth... definatly isn't made with savage tooling lol. Don't care for the location of the mark but if it performs I'll get over it. The crown looks well enough done. The flash on the phone camera makes it look fired. Hopefully it's not a customer returned product they just put back on the shelf. The extension and chamber look unused

Anyone have any thoughts on the burrs on extension lugs?

Is the burrs on the feed ramps or extension grooves?
File wont touch them? Are you using decent needle files?

Im using these Vallorbe files, they work well for most applications https://www.amazon.com/VALLORBE-SWISS-NEEDLE-FILES-Jewelers/dp/B074D6D6M8

If that wont work and it still bugs you pick up some fine diamond needle files. Its hard enough to file/hone carbide. Check with KBC tools, thats where I got mine.

Ah I uploaded a thumbnail, better picture now But basically the bearing surface of the bolt looks as it has a burr from the final facing operation. Yeah I think it's a nicolson points file.... will dig around for some other files. As long as it functions and doesn't tear up the bcg I won't worry too much.

I'm curious to see real life results from one of these barrels, I'm interested but I don't want to spend the cash for a minor upgrade.

I'm not sure what people are expecting from there auto loading platform, being your have to full length size the brass ect. Unless your having issues with impact shifting with heat... or its shooting 3moa or something terrible.

I’d like a decent upgrade and a heavier barrel than my 102 came with. I’m not expecting miracles but I can dream on a budget.

I have a maple ridge .308 barrel sitting on the shelf right now. The barrel extension looks very similar to yours but otherwise everything checks out. It measures 13.25ish to the gas block location so should be good to go with a regular rifle gas tube.

I plan on taking some photos and making a similar thread.

That's good to hear, what's the gas port size? Is there a slight bur on the interior of the barrel? I think the burs on the bolt lugs is just the nature of the machining operation. I suspect they are doing a few of the operations post heat treat... and I'm glad the metal isn't butter soft. I really want to make a point on putting some miles on this platform.

So far I am very happy with my IBI 308 barrel on my Stag 10. However I have only shot some Hirtenberger to zero and dial in my gas and a box of Winchester 168 grain at 200 yards.
I had 1 group at 1.13 MOA and the rest were sub MOA averaging 0.78 MOA.
I'll be handloading some 168 and 208 grain Hornady in Lapua brass. I will start a thread with results once I get time at the range.

This was taken at my first range trip with the IBI 308 barrel on my Stag 10. After a rough zero and dialing in my gas with Hirtenberger, this was my second 5-shot group using Federal Gold Medal Match 168 gr at 100 meters. I'm pretty happy with the initial results so far, especially from a semi-auto.

Looks pretty darn good! :)

How does one measure the gas port? Can it be done accurately with a vernier caliper?

When i looked down the bore i could not see any visible burrs protruding. I will take a better look and take some photos over the weekend.

Pin gauge

I have bought pin gauges from meyergage.com.
The shanks of a numbered set of drill bits can be used to give a pretty good idea of hole diameters.

As I sit here and wait for the rest of my parts so i can build my rifle i am eye balling the port hole vs the pin on the extension vs how centered in the bore it is. Well let's just say I'm not too happy about how this is looking. This is a tight fitting .096" drill bit.... good god.
