International barrels .308 barrel for the stag 10 in real life... pics ect.

My gut says IBI will send you a barrel to make this right. Your issues look out of character for them.

You’ve exaggerated the centreline. Put it together and shoot it.
Your gas block doesn’t need to be top dead centre two and a half inches away from barrel centre.

Haha probably but I have a bit of experience with metal working. You have to be drilling holes free hand to get it this crooked. I could do a better job with a drill press and a c clamp, and definitely end up with less of a burr.

That's exactly like my shilen barrel. For the amount I paid for it with a matched bolt it came off centre like your photo, scratched up and they forgot to thread the muzzle. I will not be buying another one.

Also don't need to mount my scope or my hand guard level.... hell it will probably function fine without tightening the jamb nut for the buffer tube more than finger tight if nothing really matters.

As long as the exit of gas port is at 12 o’clock I would try it. But contact them first.

Oh no problems man I'm real new to gas guns. I actually able to touch up the extension and it looks great now.... and that's when I started eye balling the gas block hole a bit more closely. I got to thinking about posting this at the same time as sending you an email... kind of a #### move on my part.

A better picture of the raised edges on the extension.

I just put some stuff up to sell on Facebook too get a 223 barrel from IBI. After bore scoping one at Taccom last spring I was blown away.

And now that Pet is hosting PRS and all my rifles are a no go due to base rules I figure a SPR is the way to go

If there is a problem with any Shilen barrel purchased through me, just contact me and we can get you sorted out. All barrels I receive are very well wrapped and that is carried onto the customer. If there is some surface damage, let's have a look and resolve.

Some Shilen AR barrels do not come threaded... that is clearly listed in their spec sheet on their website. If this is something I missed, happy to make it right.

IBI does a wonderful job of servicing their products. So do I...

Just send a PM or email...

Hey John!
Like I said in the email we are happy to take care of it however you like. If you want to replace it, its no prob. I have them in stock. If you want to shoot it first and then decide that's fine too! Whatever is best for you.
Again not sure how that one got through after drilling. Definitely NOT our standard. Gas port size you are bang on though .096 is what we drill them at for .308.
We do not make the extensions just so you know. I cant really see what you mean by burrs on it but none the less if you aren't happy neither am I. The extensions come from the same US manufacturer that makes extensions for a multitude of other companies. As with anything AR a couple shots and most burrs get smoothed out in a hurry.
Happy to proceed the best way for you.

Wow, try before you decide to keep it or return it? That is a most excellent offer!!!

Now your exaggerating what I implied. I think maybe once you get some more experience under your belt “metalworking” you’ll find that a burr from a gas port in a barrel or some extension burrs are gone in first or second shot with 40-60k PSI applied.
And someday if you keep at it maybe an understanding of GD&T will alleviate your concerns of perpendicular tolerances.

The internet has provided you a soapbox and Longshot has been more gracious than necessary, good luck in your future endeavours.

yup if there is big burr on the gas port just pass a brush to remove them an d the rest will be remove by the bullet when you use the rifle

Haha it's all cool man, text can be taken out of context so easy. Soap box or not it's just words typed on a screen either way it's your choice to be butt hurt.

I don't so sloppy work in my shop. If I installed valve guides in a cylinder head, reamed them and left a burr that made it's way into the cylinder. or had it not contact the valve seat 100% and your bike run just as ####ty as when it came in....

Yeah he is being super awesome about this, I purchased a second barrel from him even.

I just put an IBI barrel on my RPR, 26 in SS 6.5 Creedmoor....first 5 rounds with 41.5 H4350 and 143 ELD-x went .356 MOA at 100 meters. This was on a day the wind was causing my eyes to water so stopped and will continue load development when the weather is nicer. Very impressed so far! :)
