Here's a ladder test from today. Distance was 300 yards.
I color highlighted the same loads. Rounds were fired in the order by number. All rounds were fired over a prochrono digital at ~35 feet from the muzzle. The wind picked up from right to left for rounds 11 and 12.
Thoughts?

01. 41.5 grains - 2446 fps
02. 42.0 grains - 2464
03. 42.5 grains - 2510
04. 43.0 grains - 2520
05. 43.5 grains - 2564
06. 44.0 grains - 2604

07. 41.5 grains - 2424
08. 42.0 grains - 2492
09. 42.5 grains - 2515
10. 43.0 grains - 2539

You only loaded one round for each powder charge?

Gonna be hard to tell how consistant it is going to be that way. My $0.02

No, I loaded 2 rounds of each charge. You must have mis-read my post.
Wind is a non-factor in this test from what I understand. I simply mentioned it because it shows in the horizontal spread on shots 11 and 12.

id like to know what rifle??

if by chace its a 700 5r, they have a thing for varget @ 42.5 (hence why im asking) give or take .1grain to fine tune it, the upper node is usually around 45.5gn

Well, it looks like shots 3 and 4, and 10 and 11 could be potential nodes, since they are somewhat close on POI. I would play in those two zones and see what you get. This looks like a modified 20 round ladder I read about, where you fire one round each, and look for the sweet spots. Cool. I might try it.

if you look at the shots 1-2-3 look like they are an 1inch at 300 however 7-8-9 are much father apart. did you drop 7 by chance. the 2nd thing i notice was 2 and 8 are the same charge but 30fps apart while 3 and 9 are only 5fps apart something in your loading process need refining

That being said i wouold go with charge #2 42.0 grains and see how they run

good luck
Trevor
