intimidated by the thought of reloading.

I remember the first time I reloaded (not that long ago).

That part was not the issue, it was the first pull of the trigger that I feared.

Well nothing bad happened.

Click - BANG - SMILE!

... and that was 30K rounds ago.

It really is child's play. If I reload now without my daughters, they get mad. I use the press (Dillon 550) and one case gauges while the other sorts the colours (nickel and brass).

Companies are not going to sell a product, advertise it, provide data and support if their products would hurt or kill their customers.

You will not regret your choice to reload.

He HAS a reloading manual!! Don't you guys read? OP bought a 50th Anniversary Kit...comes with a great manual, especially for load data.

Damn, then I got ripped off, my anniversary kit didn't come with the lee manual!! Certainly no room in the original packaging it comes in.

I have picked up a few:Lee, Lyman, Hornady and I have the ABC's on order.

Start with reloading Rifle shells first, after a few month of that progress into handgun loads. The most difficult ones are the Shotgun loads so wait with that a bit. Reloading is best done all by your lonesome, you don't want to be distracted. The only Powder on the Bench should be the one you are using. An experienced Mentor for the first couple of hours would be nice but not absolutely necessary, Utube Videos are a good substitute. Getting into good habits from the start is definitely a good idea.

Have Fun and Cheers after you are all done.

last year i bought the lee 50th anniversary reloading press with all its accessories. and lee dies for 300 win, 30-06, and 308. i was then gifted a lee load all for shot shells. only thing missing is powder, primers, projectiles and a tumbler. well maybe a better scale than the one that comes with the lee kit. i have read so much on reloading as it was something i was and am really eager to do. but for one reason or another i haven't been able to do it. i'm afraid of blowing my face off or something. i would love to shoot more, and the idea of consistent loads is a no brainer. but i just can't do it...

has anyone else ever struggled with this?

Of course, accepting mediocrity seems to be a national past time. I choose to accept a higher standard. At least you used a real word and (spelled ) spelt it correctly.

There Wildcat, I fixed it for you... Those who live in glass houses should not cast the first stone.

To the OP, I was so nervous the first time I reloaded that it took me 1.5 hours to load 5 rounds. I was very nervous about the powder charging and really took my time, checking and double checking the charge weights.

I would recommend starting slow. In one sitting knock the primers out and call it a day, then resize the next sitting, etc. Ease yourself into it and build some confidence, then it will get better from there!

Started last year, already had one row no powder. Learn to check and double check, repitition is the oder of reloading. When stuck or have question, I youtube or post messages on forum. Really fun and gives me something to do in winter, load all winter and shoot in spring fall.

Brother, you will need to try harder than that. I learned my readin' 'n' writin' in the '60's, when it was taught for real. Handwriting classes, language arts...etc. you gonna school me?

here, just for you... From dictionary.com, when you type in spelled...

verb (used with object), spelled or spelt, spell·ing.
1.
to name, write, or otherwise give the letters, in order, of (a word, syllable, etc.): Did I spell your name right?
2.
(of letters) to form (a word, syllable, etc.): The letters spelled a rather rude word.
3.
to read letter by letter or with difficulty (often followed by out ): She painfully spelled out the message.

Thus, both are correct in today's libertarian world, no need to use slang my English teacher would have whacked your knuckles with a yardstick and told you that spelt is wheat.

Damn spell-check! Sometimes it bails you out and other times it just screws you over...
Dang! If I could turn off the auto-correct on my iPad, I would. Most times it screws me over. Especially when in a hurry to get my son to work.

Ya got me, Pard! Technology is my enemy!!

See, OP? Reloading is perfectly safe.

BUT GOD HELP YOU IF YOU MISSPELL A WORD ON THE INTERNET

Not anymore it doesn't. It also now only comes with 1 bushing instead of 3.

I have the lee manual. It came with my kit
See! Told ya! Good to know it does not come that way anymore, however I got my nephew a brand-new kit from my LGS at Christmas. Must have been old stock. Had a manual, but I see they no longer do.

That explains plenty, I'll leave you to your ways.. Obviously no one is as correct as you are. Lol.

I'm old school just like wildcat and was never paid to spell or watch grammer. Ever read a docs' or engineers' hand writing or messages Enough said
Then again that old school readin' 'n' writin' got many of us retired prior to age 50 with a home, family and no bills.
So as Dr. Phil would say How is that new modern teckie spelling/ grammer working for this generation to acheive that. :)
For me success in life is not linked ones' spelling and grammer but lies in determination and hard work .
All the best
Cheers

My apologies to the OP for going off track
