Intro & looking for hunting mentor

I can do the reloads if you want to teach me to hunt!!

I am new to the Calgary area and while have been involved in shooting for a while now I am not from a family of hunters so know nothing, zip, nada, but am eager to learn and not afraid to get dirty.

I am looking for someone who wants some decent company when they go out hunting and as a benefit I am someone who knows what part of the gun not to be waving around. :D
 
Hi. Have done the AB Hunter's Safety course? Joining a shooting club opens all kinds of doors.
"...go to one of the local ranges..." You join a shooting club, not a range.
 
I am in a club, but it is lacking...

I have joined the Shooting Edge and shoot there regularly but I was previously involved in the Rod and Gun Club in Newfoundland and there was a lot more social activity and I was involved in the club at a lot of their events and was on the board.

I don't know of a lot of clubs like that here and recommendations would be welcome.
