Intro to me

[The Sniper]

So i am 17 years old and new to this site and new to guns. I am trying to get info on all types of guns and how they work. I am mostly interested in snipers. I am trying to decide if I want to become a sniper for the marines it is a hard decision. So getting info on the subject and the guns I might be using in this career will help me decide what to do. That is pretty much why I am on here to be educated in guns and how they work.

Welcome and good luck with your chosen career. I can't help much with the Canadian military (born in Canada, but lived all my life in the US), and I can't help much with rifles. But if you want information on pistols, I may be able to help with that.

If you enjoy camping for days with little in the way of creature comforts - don't mind being in a jungle surrounded by poisonous snakes/spiders and are physically very fit and enjoy hardships then being a sniper might be a possibility.

hello and welcome to the world of fireams, I am new to the SITE too. I hope you find all the info you seek to make the best choice before "signing on the dotted line". A little info to get you started.
Firearms are tools. Respect them.
You have to become a grunt first, then if the oppportunity is afforded you train to become a sniper, not everyone gets that.
I don't know if you mistaken Marines for Canadian Infantry or you want to join the US but Canadian Forces Snipers are top shelf.
