Introducing In Canada The New Mauser M18 - The Peoples Rifle

Push feed Mauser? Heresy.

Zastava Arms makes an orthodox controlled round feed Mauser rifle for $700 new, why can't the Germans? Hell, I'd pay them double.

+1 why not.

Would like to add, there is nothing wrong with a Zastava. I bought a used Zastava 375H&H off the forum that both outshoots my Sako 85 and it never jams. Factory trigger is not good in the Zastava, so I put in a Timney, from Western Gun Parts in Edmonton.

No matter the ownership, design differences from 98, etc. Time will tell if the m18 is a good rifle. I would also add AVAILABILITY, can you get a new mag, what if something needs fixed, more cambering choices, aftermarket stocks, WILL IT BE AVAILABLE IN STAINLESS??? They have their work cut out to beat the T3.

That looks like a winner in my book. I hope they have some interesting chamberings.

Edit: looks like the standard North American offerings. According to Mauser website, .308, .30-06

From July 2018, the following calibers are available: Standard: .243 Win., .270 Win., Magnum: 7 mm Rem., .300 Win.

Having it not in 8mm is fundementally WRONG ..... only option..... lol

3006 is just a cloned 8mm anyway .... murica style

"the whole package" my arse, missing most fundamental parts to be as claimed.
Where are the sights?

"It brings together all the essentials for hunting in the best possible way and does not include anything that isn’t necessary in the field."

Really, does it come with mounts and rings and scope?

It's a run of the mill synthetic hunting rifle, it's a play for market share from a name synonymous with much higher end offerings. Sub $1000 hunting rifles are becoming a crowded market segment, but its not a reinvented wheel or anything to sit on a long waiting list for.
