Wondering if anyone out there knows what site has a copy or reference to the legality of hunting alien/invasive species of both animals and fish. I have it in word from a CO that invasive species are ok to go after, but nothing in writing, which is what I'm looking for... proof in writing. Any ideas?

Check your provincial hunting regs. Here in Quebec you are only allowed to shoot what is listed in the regs according to your hunting zone. On game farms where exotic species are present, you can shoot whatever the game farm owner allows. No provincial regs apply there.

You can find it on the Internet

Thank you! I was mainly referring to some carp that were dumped into a local lake (bow fishing) and the rabbits around here, they've been exterminating them, I figured I could get some practice too.

check your regs.if there is no season for them & they are not fur bearing animals.most cases its an open season on them.most provinces allow the non native species to be hunted any time of the year

Well, thanks all, got some tasty critters, with a sling shot of all things. Heck, I may give up shooting - slingshot ammo is all over the place and free!

Edit - for those interested in B.C. - All the following "schedual C" animals are capturable or killable at any time anywhere in B.C. without a hunting liscence - an electronic call may be used for the birds (what call does one use for a sparrow?):

American bullfrog
snapping turtles (that would be fun)
North american Opposum
Eastern Cottontail
European rabbit
Nutria - WTF?? They're in BC???
All species of grey and fox squirrels
house sparrow (7mm magnum should do it)
European starling
Rock dove (domestic -flying rat- pidgeon)
