Hi, I have the opportunity to purchase a Lil champ single shot for $100 for my 8 yrs Old. Is this a good choice for a beginer or should I buy something else?
Not familiar with that rifle, but should be good.
The standard single shot bolt action has to be cocked by pulling back the nob on the cocking piece on the bolt, before it will fire.
This is the best possible choice for a young shooter to start on.
Jump on it, they're great for kids, and bigger than the Chipmunk. I usta have 6 of them for the aspiring little shooters, kept lending them out to the next generation. A few came back to get them for their kids, .........now down to one only!
A small telescope is a good idea for new shooters. The whole physical effort of hanging on to the rifle is tough enough to master, without having to remember the post and V alignment business of iron sights. Tell the kid to put the cross hairs on the tin can, and squeeze the trigger, is easy to absorb.
