Your best bet would be to leave the rifle as is and shoot it, a lot....
It's a Soviet workhorse rifle immune to modifications (believe me, I tried). I would only recommend a stock that would increase the rifle's length of pull (Choate makes a good one). Don't waste your time and money on bipods, adapters, optics, rails and mounts. If it aint broke, load it and fire!
