Anyone have major load data for WST. I have searched a number of forums and have found WST produces lower velocity the warmer it gets. Also most of the data was for the US major which is lower than ours.
So I am looking for some local knowledge to enlighten me. From what I can determine major loads are on the outer edge of the published data.

Thanks

I'm using 5.7gr of wst under a 180gf fmj bullet set at 1.192.
(Using cci small pistol primers, u can use small rifle primers and it brings up the fps by 10-20)

Around 176-180 power factor out of my tanfoglio limited. Accurate and super clean.

(Be safe and start load data low and build up)

Yup most IPSC major PF loads are above the max load. The pressures can be very high, increasing the OAL helps lower these pressures. Try this site it may help http://www.k8nd.com.

I Checked a old (Win) reloading book (free one)
of the 7 powders listed for the 40S&W

WST is the one with the lowest listed max velocity (170g lead & 180g JHP and others)

W231 has a higher start velocity at lower pressure and a higher top load vel.

WSF has one of the highest velocities

Check out ht tp://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp for more info

Ps
Winchester Super Target makes a good target practice load
