Talking with my daughter last night and both of us are looking to try out IPSC. I've looked all over ipscbc.com website and I still can't find out what the min age is. Is there a junior age for those under 19???

As far as I know, there is no minimum age for IPSC. I watched a you-tube video of a 15 year old shooting. The kid is much faster than I am!

Juniors are considered anyone under 21.

as for a practical age, 12 is about the youngest, due to size and maturity. the youngest BB course i did was for a young fellow who was 11 going onto 12 and he was small for his age. we used a downloaded 45. that was about all he could handle.

i hope that helps.

My son just took the BB course. He is 14. The good thing about the Junior course is it's only $10 for IPSC and $40 for the instructor. Great deal. :)It cost me $175 for the exact same course a couple of months ago. The age limit is really only capability and safety.

My son took his Black Badge when he was 13 with my daughter who was 16 at the time.
Both had no major problems. It is a great opportunity to bond with the kids and create some great memories.

The official answer is No - there is no minimum age for IPSC in Canada.

The truth is, everyone has to pass the black badge and if the child is either not physically capable of passing or not mature enough, he or she won't get in, but our instructors will certianly give it the best try they can to help along the way.

NB has the official youngest IPSC shooter,...started in OPen division,...and he even smiles....16 months LOL
