Wondering whats IPSC's stance is on this. You'd think that they would be one of loudest voices on the topic.
As far as I know every IPSC organization across the country has donated large sums of cash to legal action. They themselves are not a lawyers so the best they can do is financially assist the organization that are like the CCFR.
Yes I believe several provincial or regional IPSC groups made a combined donation to the CCFR challenge. They are a sport organization not an advocacy group so getting behind one of the other challenges and keeping their members up to date is about right for them.
As a member, I don’t think that goes far enough. With the stroke of a pen, the OIC and subsequent FRT changes decimated two IPSC disciplines (Rifle and PCC) and severely crippled a third (Shotgun)...Now they’ve made it clear handguns are next on the list, whether directly or through their municipal proxies. This pretty much spells the end of IPSC in Canada...unless we all switch to action air.
As an international Sport shooting body they are uniquely qualified to provide evidence and expertise to the various challenges. I know IPSC Ontario has struck a committee to work towards official provincial and national recognition as a sports organization. Not sure what else they are doing behind the scenes but this isn't the time to be meek or shy so I would hope they are active...In any case, an update from the board or the committee is always appreciated - as this thread demonstrates...
This entire OIC revolves around these firearms having no sporting purpose. IPSC should be stepping up as they are that purpose.

The post that was deleted was mine....criticize wisely, otherwise the CGN Admin will delete....why would they do that???? It surely wouldn't have anything to do with a Forum Sponsor being the President of IPSC Canada.....things that make you go HMMMMMM?????
IPSC if anything has the the most to lose with this OIC crap. Nothing like waiting for the bridge to collapse. They should have been the first ones to denounce this garbage. They don't seem to have any issues complaining about everything else on the IPSC website.
This is good news;Ipsc-Ont has become an affiliate of the Shooting Federation of Canada. Ipsc-Canada has also become an affiliate. This makes us a recognized sport on a national level. As to the CCFR legal fund. Ipsc-Ont has not made a donation, but expect an announcement shortly as to the plan for that.
