IPSC BC 2015 Provincials Match Video, Classic Div.

congtats. I liked stage 6, you rocked that.

I was really looking forward to shooting nanaimo provincials but I crippled myself again so no shooting for me.

my favorite part is how the top guy in the province doesn't get 100% for the win because, well, why is that again? (in a way that makes sense please)

The top shooter gets 100% for a match score, but not 100% for a classification score.
The same way that if you were to shoot Canadian Nationals and those scores were submitted for classification to IPSC World, the Production Champion would not get 100% for a classification score because the top shooter (Eric Grauffel) was not in attendance.

Chris, that would make sense if there was a top shooter for Brennan to shoot against. Since its our Provincials, and we use our own ranking system, I think the match winner should, by default, be the one everyone else is measured against. Now if someone shows up and beats Brennan at every match next season, Brennan's rank would drop and the other guy would become the top dog. I think it's grossly unfair that he isn't considered the top guy, when he won the provincial championships. Your example only applies to ICS, and if we were to consider that across the board, we'd have maybe one Master in the entire country and a bunch of A's and a crap load of B C D's with the vast majority of shooters occupying D most likely. And that wouldn't be much fun.

BC and Alberta have an agreement to include each others members in our classification scheme. BC's current top shooter is Ivan Runions. BC's system is not strictly numbers based, either. If Brennan (or any other Classic Division shooter) were to consistently be winning matches and distinguishing himself against the other BC Masters, he would be recommended to the Board of Directors for promotion to GM (there have been a few recommendations to the Board in the past, so it does actually happen). However, there have not been any BC shooters that have consistently been demonstrating dominance in the division to match Ivan's performance in BC. The closest person that I've been tracking is Trevor, but there is not enough data for him vs other BC Masters at this point.
